I've been stamping day and night it seems, getting ready for convention with my swaps and still trying to keep up with clubs and technique classes. This is one of the cards I prepared, using Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip cardstock and inks. Actually, I think it turned out pretty cute... considering I was going through "old" packets of pre-cut cardstock from previous workshops. I also used the Define your Life and Defining Alphabet stamp sets that I really love and don't use a lot. I am a little concerned with the new airline policy on how many clothes I will actually be able to take to convention to keep within the weight limit of 50lbs since I've been making so many swaps. I also need to cut out and supply accessories for a shoebox swap our group will be holding on the 30th in Salt Lake City. I'm thinking I will only get to take one outfit for four days just to accomodate all the stamping supplies I will be taking LOL.
Last Thursday, the 3rd, I pre-ordered my stamp sets and new in-colors that demonstrators are allowed to purchase ahead of time to get ready for the new catalog. As of today, they still haven't been shipped. I'm SO excited to get them and start playing with them and show you some of the fun new things that will be available that I'm really getting antsy waiting. I keep seeing other stampers posting of cards they've done using the new sets and new in-colors and I really love them. They will all be available for purchase on August 11th for everyone. Are you as excited as I am to see all the new stamp sets and accessories?

The retired Accessories list is going to be posted on the 21st of July. I'm curious to see what new items will be unveiled and what favorites are still going to be available. Some of my favorite designer series papers will be retiring because they contain the retiring In-Colors. Maybe they will be revamped using the new colors... I hope so. There are also a number of stamp sets that were in the Occasions Mini Catalog that I'd like to see carried over into the new Fall/Winter catalog.

The clock is ticking..... more stamping to be done.

During June, my club members made a a "2, 5, 7, 10" box and filled it with chocolate..... Yum!! We made the boxes using Kraft cardstock wheeled with the "It's Beautiful" jumbo wheel. The Butterfly is from "Garden Whimsey" and stamped in Groovy Guava on the main whisper white CS, the stamped again on a scrap piece and cut out. We adhered some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the butterfly's white spots and attached the butterfly to the box with a small strip of a dimensional. You can see how the butterfly stands away from the box in the second picture with just that little bitty dimensional. The box is then tied shut using the Groovy guava double stitched grosgrain ribbon.
Each box is filled with chocolate candies wrapped in "Afternoon Tea" designer series paper and stamped with the flower from "A Little Birdie Told Me. Then we punched out the small flowers with the flower punch from the "Three for You Punch Box" in Bayou Blue, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava cardstock. We also punch out small circles with the 1/4" circle punch for the flower centers and attached the flowers and the centers with mini glue dots. I think these turned out super cute. If you like these in-colors, you need to get them now as they will be retiring with the Spring/Summer catalog and are only available until 8-10-08. Call or email me if you would like to stock up on the inks, ink refills and cardstock while you can still purchase them.
Till tomorrow........ it's off to beddie-bye, you know another work day tomorrow but a long weekend again to, you guessed it, STAMP!!!

Good Morning, I had to make a birthday card for a friend and decided to use my alphabet set "Big Deal". I started out with the bordering blue, always artichoke and more mustard colors, but when they all went together, it looked sooooo masculine. I love the card though. I thought it looked a little plain so I added another element, but I'm not sure it's any better. Again, it was still way too masculine. I know know my friend likes pink, so I picked out the brightest pinks I could and then instead of colored brads, I used the fire Rhinestone Brads in the pink color. I think this turned out really cute. this is really a simple and fast card to make. I love the twill tape to stamp part of the message on. Have a nice day, it's off to work I go!!!

I told you I had another club night this month and thought I would post some of the Challenge cards the members from that night came up with using the brilliant blue, bashful blue, pumkin pie and Whisper White. Mine is this first one using the Great Grads Stamp Set and Jersey Shore designer series paper.. (hope this stays in the new catalog).

The next three cards are what were entered into the contest and the second one using "Doodle This" by LeeAnn Herker was the winner. Don't you agree they ALL deserved to win?

Some of the girls also brought other cards they had made using these same color combinations to show. I think they did such a good job.

I'm still trying to get ready for convention and making my swaps.... I may have to change my original thoughts and come up with something that I can make enmass instead of having to design every 12 or so from old unused card sets. LOL. I'm anxious to see what is coming out in the new catalog that maybe I can use that will be fun. Our Stampadelicious Group is having a Shoebox Swap on the 30th during convention and we all are to put together enough supplies and accessors for 35 full cards. Convention is going to be sooo much fun this year and having only been to one before, I'm anxious to see how this compares.
I'm trying to also to turn over a new leaf and try to post some of my projects more often; so keep coming back to see what I'm doing (right now I'm staying in the house because 103 degrees is just TOO HOT for me :)
Well, I'm off to making more swaps......... See ya later
