Boy, when I said "Good-Bye" to Stamp Sets back in May, I didn't really mean it to be "forever"; but it almost has been.

I have to show you the cutest card for Halloween using Totally Tess. When I was looking at the new Bingo Bits Stamp Set, I thought Tess needed to dress up for halloween!!!!! I also needed a swap for our demonstrator meeting this month and thought this would be a fun share so I made "lots".

Isn't this just the cutest???????? I used the spider page from the Frightful Sights to highlight the occasion and a little bit of the 1/8" black ribbon for dimension. The Skull and the Treat Bag are set up on dimensionals, but the pumpkin is adhered to the card base.

I hope you like this and it inspires you to make more of these with Tess using your own ideas. I would love to see what you come up with. Please link back to me so I can see!!!

Scrapbooking from Scrappin' Kit

Oh my gosh, look at these cute little birds. I had never seen these before so I had to look them up in my bird book and it appears these are BUNTINGs. They are colored so brilliantly blue and orange. Over the last week we have lots of them eating the seed we have put out for the sparrows and doves that are our usual guests. I had to get some pictures of them from inside the house as they are really spooky.

Have you all seen the really cute "Playful Polka Dots" Scrappin' Kit in the Summer Mini Catalog? The colors are so gorgeous together and bright and energizing!!! I'm not a big scrapbooker, but when I saw this, I had to put together a cute mini scrapbook using these papers and self adhesive images.

I had so much fun putting this together and making little pockets for additional places for photos.

During April you were able to purchase the Four Frames Stamp Set and the Petals Paisley Designer Series Paper as a pre-order from the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. I was playing with the Stamp Set and came up with this cute tag holder using the Scalloped Envelope Die for the Big Shot.

I punched out 10 tags using the Large Tag Punch, but placing the punch on a fold so it would be like a small card. Then I punched 10 Small Tags in Whisper White to place an image on the front of each tag.
I used the Raspberry stamp from the Clearly For You set (Occasions Mini catalog) to stamp onto the front image.
Aren't these cute? You may, however, want to make fewer tags to put into the little envelope because I found that 10 was too many to fold the top down on the envelope and keep it shut.

This is a fun idea to give to a friend or use as an incentive gift for a workshop.

Copying

I loved the card in the new Summer Mini catalog on page 22 using the Tangerine Tango. I told you I loved this color cardstock LOL.

Anyway, I copied the card exactly as it is shown. It was really fun to make.

The card is made from the Tangerine Tango cardstock, and embossed with the NEW Flower Garden embossing folder. Then I tied the Daffodil Delight 3/8" taffeta ribbon around the card. On top of that I attached some of the NEW Beyond the Garden DSP after the bottom was punched with the Scallop Edge Punch.

I cut two strips of cardstock, one in Pacific Point and the other in Wild Wasabi and attached onto the DSP at the bottom edge above the embossed portion.

Then I stamped the leaf in Wild Wasabi and one of the flower images in Daffodil Delight on scrap paper and cut them out. then they were attached to the front of the DSP with Dimensionals.

The greeting I used was from the Thanks for Caring stamp set from the Occasions Mini catalog that is expiring on 4-30-11. Don't forget to check through the Occasions catalog to make sure you have all you want out of it before it's gone.

LOVE the colors

I was looking at some of the new Designer Series Paper in the Summer Catalog called Beyond the Garden. The colors in the paper are the ones shown in the New Color Coach (Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango).
The photo of the cards just doesn't do them justice; they are sooooo gorgeous together. I wanted to make a card using ALL OF THE COLORS, but that's for another day.

I did use some of the paper and some other new items from the Summer Mini Catalog to make this card.
Again this photo of the card doesn't do the colors justice; the base of this card is Tangerine Tango... one of my most favorite colors of all the Stampin' UP! colors. The first thing I did was to stamp one of the flower images from the new Fabulous Florets stamp set randomly all over the front using my VersaMark stamp pad, so basically, they are watercolor marks. I punched the edge of the card with the Scallop Edge Punch, then using the NEW Flower Garden embossing folder, ran the card front through the Big Shot imprinting this new fabulous image.

I stamped the leaf image on Whisper White cardstock in Wild Wasabi and attached the cardstock to a piece of the new Beyond the Garden DSP and attached them to the front of the card. I also ran a sheet of Tangerine Tango through the Big Shot and used the Square Lattice embossing folder, cut the paper into thin strips, then attached a strip to the edge of the Whisper white cardstock to give the card a little more dimension. Using some Whisper White scraps, I stamped another of the flower images in VersaMark then applied some NEW Tangerine Tango embossing powder to the image and heat embossed it. I stamped two images then cut them out, and attached them together using a dimensional. I also used my Aqua Painter and applied some Daffodil Delight classic ink in the center of the top flower and little dabs of Tangerine Tango classic ink from the center out toward the end of the petals. Lastly, I applied some Smooch pearlized top coat on the petals to give them some shine. I attached the flower to the card with another dimensional, then tied some 3/8 Whisper White Taffeta ribbon around the card for the finishing touch.

Here is a closer view of the flower showing how shiny it is with the Smooch top coat.

What the card doesn't show you is what I put on the inside. I used a 1" strip of the same Designer Series Paper on the edge of the inside so it shows underneath the scallop edge when the card is closed. I also corner rounded the inside corners to go along with the scalloped front.

The card turned out pretty amazing. I made it for a swap I'm in this month.

Ice Cream Cone

This is the last project we made in our first Big Shot class this month...... Isn't this the cutest thing? The Petal Cone die again!!! We cut the cone with the Big Shot using Crumb Cake cardstock and then ran it through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder to make it look like a waffle cone. The banner in the die cut was also embossed and adhered to the top portion of the cone to finish off the edge. The we cut one section of the cone in Whisper White for the inside greeting, trimmed to fit and adhered to the inside of the card. Next we ran three pieces of Pretty in Pink pieces of cardstock through the Petal Cone Die on the scallop half circle section. Then each piece was sponged with Regal Rose classic ink. The first piece was placed on the cone as it is originally cut. Then to make the other three pieces smaller, we fit the cut piece into the 2 1/2" circle punch, placed the scallops evenly inside and punched. Then these altered "ice creams" were placed on top of the cone for additional scoops. I then sprayed the ice cream with the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to finish it off. I thought this turned out pretty cute.

Petal Cone Die Projects

This little pouch was fun to make and really cute. It could be used for any number of things.... of

course my first thought was to put a valentine greeting inside; however, the pouch is large enough that it could hold some special treat (maybe chocolate???). This was made by cutting the basic section on the back with the Petal Cone Die. The front is using Designer Series Paper from the Level 1 Hostess paper pack in the 2010/2011 Idea Book & Catalog, also cut with the Petal Cone Die. Don't you LOVE the flowers? These were made with the new Fun Flowers Die that you can also find in the Occasions Mini Catalog and the leaves are actually petals from the Blossoms Petal Punch. Pretty cute, huh?

This next project is one of my favorites. Again using the Petal Cone Die and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, I made a "carrot" for Easter. The front is stamped with the Easter Blossoms stamp set using Pumpkin Pie classic ink. The little banner on the Petal Cone die is what I curled slightly and attached to the front and on top of that I attached a piece of Victoria Lace with a small piece of Daffodil Delight 1/8" ribbon tied around the lace. Then I attached a button from the Neutrals Button collection with a small piece of linen thread tied into it. The back of the "carrot", I adhered some DSP in Old Olive; then filled with "crimped grass" and pixie sticks.

The project on the right is again made using the Petal Cone die. This project is made with Early Espresso cardstock with some Blushing Bride Designer Series paper from the Level 1 Hostess Paper pack. On top of that I attached a scallop circle with another circle cut with the 1 3/8" circle punch. The image is stamped in Early Espresso classic ink using the Clearly For You stamp set that you can find in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Don't forget, if there are things in the Occasions Mini that you can't live without, it will be expiring on 4-30-11. We NEVER know if any of the stamp sets will appear in a future Idea Book & Catalog, so hurry to get in your order before the end of the month.

The Other item shown is made from the Scallop Square die and I have attached a square of Designer Series Paper onto the cardstock. I punched a hole on the top opposite corners, added some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and a greeting from the Defining Life Stamp Set which was punched out with the Decorative label Punch. I also attached a rosette from the Occasions Mini Catalog and a few leaves punched from the Blossoms Petal Punch.

Today my husband actually mowed the lawn because it was looking pretty shaggy with all the rain we've had and it looked so pretty and reminded me that soon we will be able to sit outside and enjoy the warm sun!!! Top Note Die

One of my customers brought me this beautiful card she made using the Top Note Die for the Big Shot and the Decorative Label punch. I think this is gorgeous and if you look closely, you'll notice she added a few basic rhinestones on the image.

I have a Big Shot club for those wanting to buy the Big Shot on a Lay-Away plan and while they are waiting to get their machines, they come each month and make projects learning about and using the dies. This month, we made mostly projects made with the Petal Cone Die Cut. I got so carried away with everything you can do with this die that it took them forever to finish LOL.

I will show you a few of the things we made today, and more in the next few days.

The first basket is made using the Oval Frame Die, the handle is made with the scallop portion of the Oval Frame Die and cut in half and the Big Oval Punch was used for the greeting. The egg shape of the basket is textured with the Polka Dot embossing folder and cut to make a straight edge on the bottom to stand up. The two "egg" shapes are attached to a small box I made to fit inside.

The Easter Basket is made using the Petal Cone die and cut down to stand flat. The handle was made using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. Check out the "PEEP" inside.... she's sitting on a few Jelly Bird Eggs.

Lastly, the cone is made with the Elegant Soiree' Designer Series Paper with an added piece of Early Espresso cardstock, again using the scallop piece in the Petal Cone Die providing the scallop edge on each "petal". I used Early Espresso 5/8" Satin Ribbon for the handle and the bows on each side.

FUN FLOWERS

This was my entry into the Demonstrator Swap for our meeting this month. I used the Manhatten flower Embossing folder on the Pear Pizzaz card stock, then I cut the three scallops at the bottom using the Tasteful Trim Bigz Die for the Big Shot and some of the Springtime Vintage DSP. I used the same paper for the flower which I made using the FUN FLOWER Bigz Die for the Big Shot. I used some Pear Pizzaz Cardstock and the DSP for the flower and sponged the Pear Pizzaz classic ink on the edgesl, then I scrunched them up, opened them, attached an Antique Brad and to the card using Mini Glue Dots. I also wrapped some Pear Pizzaz 1/2" Poly-Stitched ribbon and pulled a thread out of the middle to gather it a bit on the side. My original for the swap was better; the top layer of the flower used the flower DSP instead of the the pink from the same set, but I ran out of the flower paper. I also used a large Antique Brad instead of this small one. The Greeting comes from the set, Elements of Style. Have a Fun Day.

Flower Daisies

This card reminds me that I have forgotten to use my Flower Daisies Die Cut that I LOVE SO MUCH!!! This card was made by Carol Helmig. Look at all the fun things used to make this!!!! The main portion of the card is using the Tulip Embossing Folder.... then the last layer of Marina Mist is using the Finial Press Embossing Folder. As mentioned above the flower is made using the Flower Daisies and the leaf comes from the Two Step Bird Punch. Just think..... how easy is this card to make..... using the Big Shot for both the embossing folders and the Flower Daisies, then using the Two Step Bird Punch for the leaf and the Decorative Label Punch for the sentiment and again for the outline on the sentiment. The small flower in the center of the daisy flower is made using one of the Itty Bitty Shapes punches from the Punch Pack. A little glitter on the leaf and center flower and the Basic Pearls. If you haven't used or purchased the Big Shot, it is a MUST HAVE!!!! Fun Flowers

I have another gorgeous card from our Demonstrator Card Swap that has no name on it. I LOVE the layout. This card is made using a 4 1/4" X 8 1/2" piece of cardstock and scored and folded at 3". The 3" portion is at the bottom, then decorate how you wish. The top has a piece of 7 1/5" x 2 3/4" cardstock, folded in half and placed approximately 3/4" down from the top of the card. When the card is closed, the bottom is folded up first and the top folded over the bottom.

This has a scallop circle at the bottom on the 3" portion, which will hold the top down when closed.

The flower is made using the Fun Flowers Die for the Big Shot. It is so fun to use. This one was sponged with Baja Breeze classic ink and attached with a Clear Rhinestone Brad and Dimensionals. The inside flowery image comes from the Easter Blossoms Stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Did you notice the pretty scallops across the bottom section? It was created using the Eyelet Border Punch... this punch really dresses up a card making it stand out from all the rest. I love the Designer Series paper which is Elegant Soiree from the Idea Book & Catalog.

Easter Blossoms

My Upline, Beth Suhr is so amazing at making her cards. She made this gorgeous card using the Easter Blossom stamp set found in the Occasions Mini Catalog. This photo just doesn't do it justice.

The girl is made using Black Craft Ink and Irridescent Ice embossing powder and heated with the Heat Tool. She also used the Tulip Embossing Folder and the Oval Dies for the Big Shot.

This card is really amazing. Check out the Occasions Mini Catalog as there is only one month left, ending 4-30-11 for your "can't live without" stamps. The mini catalog items sometimes make it to the BIG Idea Book and Catalog, but not all of them..... so get what you want now so you won't miss out on something you LOVE.

New Baja Breeze Glassy Glitter

The Occasions Mini catalog introduced Baja Breeze Glass Glitter and we all received a FREE jar when we went to Regionals..... Regionals is sort of like a "mini" convention. We did make and takes, had demonstrations, drawings for FREE products and other FREEBIES just for attending. I love being a demonstrator, we have sooo many perks and opportunities.

Anyway, I wanted to share this cute card that one of my fellow demonstrators, Pat Dion, shared at our Demonstrator Meeting. She used several fun products and techniques. The first, is the really fun Glassy Glitter used for the frosting on the cupcake. The is using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. Instead of using the punch to make a "ribbon", she used a 3"X3" square of cardstock, centered it in the center of the punch and punched all the way around. When done, it leaves the center portion attached and squares on each corner. Then you can decorate anyway you wish. Of course on this card the Create a Cupcake stamp set and Build a Cupcake Punch were used. Isn't it cute?

I have another card to show you that is similar, but I don't know who made it, but it is made using the same punch technique, but with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. The stamp set used is Bring on the Cake stamp set and a little Dazzling Diamonds.

See how similar these cards are, but yet so different.

Pumpkin Seeds

This unique card was made by my downline, Kristina Kelly. Can you believe that all the petals are Pumpkin Seeds?????

She entered this into our Demonstrator Swap so that means she had to make 12!!! What a lot of work but it's sooooo cute. Thanks Katrina for such a fun card!

My Grandson plays baseball for his high school and this weekend the school traveled up to Lewiston, Idaho and played 2 games against Lewiston and the next day played against Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and Lake City, Idaho. They won 3 out of 4... so that was great and they all made it home safely. We weren't able to make this trip, so our job was watching their two Shihtzu's. So, with our two Shihtzu's and theirs, it was interesting with 4 dogs in the house. We had to split up the sleeping arrangement ha ha.. My husband slept with our two and I stayed in the other bedroom with the "guests". Can you imagine trying to sleep with four dogs at once?????? They all had fun though and went home this morning TIRED!

Easter Bunny

When we had our demonstrator meeting in February, This rabbit "hinge" card won first place. One of my customers saw the cards I had received and requested that we duplicate it for our club night.
We had such a fun time and so many things went wrong, we have never laughed so hard.... One of the girls kept complaining that her rabbit (in pink) looked like a boy..... The rest of us didn't really see that. One of the other girls got the top layer all put together before attaching it to the card and when she did, it was sideways..... so we had to use the heat tool to soften the adhesive so we could remove it and put it on in the right direction. In the meantime, she had a problem with the arms and egg and her rabbit's arms got glued down to the card without attaching to the back of the body and folding over the egg; we thought it looked like the halloween witch that gets plastered on the side of the house or tree ha ha ha She also said her rabbit looked like her son in law, so she was going to give him the card for Easter. After she used the Tombo Multi Liquid Glue for the last time, she went to put in the container we use to keep the glue upside down and accidently dropped it into her coffee. The whole thing filled up with coffee and that set us off laughing again. I was surprised how much coffee came out when she took the lids off each end!!!!

It's funny how we all make the same thing and they all look different. We decided we had to line all of the cards up and take pictures, everyone named their rabbit and placed their bunny's name on the green sticky notes in front of each one. Hopefully if you make the images larger so you can see the names they chose.
I hope you have fun looking at all the differences and I guarantee you will laugh at the one with the arms spread out....... it just does that to you!!!!

Easter Basket

My upline, Beth Suhr made me this Awesome Easter Basket. It's so fun and cute. she used the Frame, Oval Scallop Die for the Big Shot and made a little basket to attach the die to and used the scallop part of the die for the handles. The stamp set used was Easter Blossoms from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Here's a photo of the side showing the basket portion and that the eggs are set up on dimensionals.

Here's a closeup of the eggs, showing that they are also embossed. I believe she used pretty in pink cardstock and Rose Red, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist Classic Inks and clear embossing powder.

The best part??????? CHOCOLATE!!!

Cupcake Punch Purses..... Aren't they adorable?

I took various ideas from several websites and made this my own.

To make the flaps on the purses, I used the 3/4" circle punch. the handles are made using first the 1/2" circle punch and then the 3/4" circle punch around that.

I saw these cute treats on someone's blog and thought what a cute idea for the new stamp set "Eat Chocolate"

I made one for each of my club members so they could see how much fun this set is and can use for their own special treats for Valentines Day, Birthday or Special Occasion.

My original plan was to use sticky strip down each side to keep the pocket closed but noticed that it made the candy bar really tight in it, so I thought I would try the Tombo Multipurpose glue and it worked as well!!! I was afraid that when I slipped the candy bar into the pocket it would pull apart, but it didn't!!!

Here is a closer look at the treat. It's so easy to make. I cut 3 X 12" strips of DSP and folded each one in half. I used my corner rounder punch to round the top corners and folded the front piece down about 1 1/2". Then I glued the sides "very" close to the edge giving the candy bar enough room to slide in easily. I stamped the "So Much Chocolate, So Little Time in Early Espresso onto Whisper White cardstock then punched it out with the Wide Oval Punch. I layered that onto a piece of Early Espresso punched with the Decorative Label Punch. I also stamped the To Do List onto Whisper White with Early Espresso ink and punched it out using the 1 1/4" square punch and layered that onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock that was punched out using the Scallop Square Punch. I slipped the candy bar into the pocket and tied some of the 5/8" Organza Ribbon around the top and tied into a bow. Then using some Linen Thread, I attached the To Do List to the bow. Wala....... easy as pie.

Try your own Chocolate Treats, they're fun to give..... I think I will be making about 15 more of these for another event I'm part of. I hope everyone likes them.

Valentines Day Ribbon Card

I learned this technique to layer ribbon inside a punched or cut-out area from one of the blogs I saw. This is so unique and fun and looks gorgeous in real life.

The full card is beautiful. The Ribbon heart is inside the "Sweetheart" (120780) heart, stamped in Real Red classic ink. Then this was layered on the new luscious Glimmer Paper (121790) found on page 7 of the New Occasions Mini Catalog.

The card base is Real Red cardstock topped with several layers of the Blushing Bride Designers Series paper (117158). Each layer is punched using the Scallop Edge Border Punch (119882). The last treatment is the 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon (109052) tied into a knot.

Give the ribbon technique a try on any open image, the trick is to overlap on larger items as though it's weaved. Post your samples too my website so I can see what you have designed.

Vintage Valentine

Remember all the old valentines we used to see using all kinds of lace and things? It's been a

long time since we've made or seen them like our grandmothers used to have.

I started out with Real Red Cardstock for the base and attached a sheet of Very Vanilla over that. Then using some Blushing Bride cardstock, I first ran it through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder (117335). Then I inked up my Lots of Love Letterpress (120983) with Real Red Craft Ink and again ran it through the Big Shot impressing the Love image into the cardstock.

Then I stamped the girl image from Greeting Card Kids (120633) on Watercolor Paper using black StazOn ink. Using watercolor crayons, I colored the girl, then punch out using the Wide Oval Punch (1198590. I put sticky strip on the back edge, then attached some Victoria Crochet trim gathering it as I went around. I attached her with dimensionals. I stamped the "L is for Love" from the Grateful Greetings stamp set (116511) on Real Red cardstock then punched out with the Full Heart Punch (119883) sponged real read classic ink on the edges then used the distressing tool from the Cutter Kit and roughed up the edges. I punched two small holes at the bottom of the heart, then I stamped the "4 you " from the Tiny Tags set (118592) and a portion of the heart from the Sweetheart stamp set (120780) and stamped them on whisper white cardstock. Then I punched the words out with the Medium Jewelry Tag punch (117190), poked a hole through the top and threaded linen thread through the tag and the hole in the heart and attached to the card front using dimensionals.

Train Ride for Christmas

We have had such a really fun Christmas this year. My son, Brent (in the plaid shirt and his girlfriend, Trish in the front with him) came from San Diego for Christmas. My daughter and her husband (Kim and Terry) stand behind. My husband and I decided for a fun Christmas gift to treat them all to a "whole day" of fun and the whole day was a surprise to them and they new nothing of what we were doing. The first thing we did was take them out to breakfast at a place that was next to a theater (thinking ahead)...... and then asked them all to drive in our truck and to leave their vehicle in the theater parking lot since the restaurant lot was too small to have them stay there all day (ha ha ha ). After breakfast, we still had time to kill before our next adventure so on the way to the next adventure (since it was noon) we stopped on the way there to have a beer since we couldn't be too early.

The next stop was to ride a "vintage" train from Horseshoe Bend, ID up to a place between there and Cascade, ID. Usually there is some sort of entertainment but this time it was just a "Holiday Train" and the train was decorated for Christmas. This photo was taken for the mountain with the fog, but I liked that I also got the top of the train, which was special.

We took lots of pictures at the turn around spot. They had a whole set placed there with building fronts where we took more pictures, a bonfire, Santa's Workshop and a sleigh set up to take photos.

When it was time to board the train to go back home, we thought it would be fun to hang "off" the train and the pictures turned out really cool.

After our fun afternoon, we went home to have dinner then it was off to the movies to see "The Little Fockers". ha (and guess what, their vehicle was in that parking lot.... what a surprise) It was a long day and I think we all dropped into bed when we got home again.

What a fun Christmas.............. Looking forward to next year to see what we can come up with to top this year hmmmmmm..... any ideas?

Bitty Box Tags

This is sooo cute in real life. I used my Bitty Box Die (115967) for the Big Shot and cut using the "Thick Window Sheets" (114324). The box is so sturdy and will withstand a lot of use.

You can tell more how sturdy this is by looking at the "open" box. How simple to die cut and fold together..... how convenient.

I made these cute Christmas Tags by cutting 2" squares. Then I stamped the Snowman Image from the Tags Till Christmas and punched out with the Circle Punch and attached with a couple of dimensionals. Then I punched a small hole in the top left corner and attached some Linen Thread to attach to a package.........
Instead of giving these away, I actually used the tags...... so now I guess I will have to make more and fill with Valentines tags.

Build a Blossom Stamp Set & Punch

I haven't played around enough with this set yet and I partially cased the card in the Mini Catalog on page 12, but changed it to a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 card so I added a few items. This stamp set from the new Occasions Mini Catalog has so many possibilities...... As I type this I'm thinking of some other fun ideas, so I will be putting them together and let you see what i envision. :)

The new Build a Blossom Stamp Set (121923 W or 121994 C) along with the new Blossom Petals Punch (121808) are so fun together. How nice not to have to snip around all the scallops on the petals (like we used to have to do..... whew!!) And boy do my customers like this option!

I used Baja Breeze and Early Espresso Cardstock for the base of the card and some of the Naturals Designer Series Paper. The flower was stamped with Blushing Bride Classic Ink on Whisper White cardstock. I stamped five of the petals with the pattern and 5 of the plain petals (the petals are different sizes and both use a different petal punch on the Blossom Petals Punch) s0000 fun. The petals are stamped with Always Artichoke onto Old Olive cardstock and punched out with the Blossom Petal Punch. I attached all to the Early Espresso cardstock using Tombo Multi Purpose glue. Then I stamped "4 you" from the Tiny Tags stamp set and punched it out with the Tiny Tags punch. After punching a hole at the top of the tag, I attached to an Olive Button tying in a bow and attached to the card with a mini glue dot. I then attached some sticky strip to the area between the cardstock and the designer series paper and "munched" some Always Artichoke Seam Binding across the tape.

Using the Fancy Favor Die Cut (115965) I made this cute little Luminary. I used the 2 1/2" circle punch to cut the circle in the middle of the cardstock. Then I attached a piece of Vellum on the inside that I had stamped with Black StazOn and then I only colored the leaves and berries with an Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler marker. I put one of the battery operated candles on the inside. I think this turned out really cute.

I think I will try some cute valentine ones for gifts for my friends. You can even put a package of candy on the inside along with the candle so you have two gifts in one!!! What's more fun than that????

I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted anything. Well, I'm back and will try to do much better. Christmas time is so busy at my house and even though it's all over, I'm going to show you a few things I did for Christmas, because I think they are super cute. One of my customers asked me to make some "Candy Wrapper" hostess gifts for a Christmas event she was in charge of. This box represents 125 Candy Wrappers. These are all different, and they hold little candy cane balls inside. My Granddaughter just had her Sixteenth Birthday....... As most teenagers, she wanted money so I wanted to make something really cute for her... I saw something on someone's blog with a packet holding money and thought this would be a fun idea. I came up with a little box sort of like the "retired" Itty Bitty Books" we used to sell. This was really fun to make, using all the same colors throughout.

This was $60.00 in $1.00 bills. I showed her older brother before I gave it to her and he asked me if I was teaching her to be a stripper ha ha ha ha

She loved the gift and had a really fun birthday.....

My husband is playing in a Senior Softball tournament this week in St. George, UT....... Oh, did I say "playing"????? Well, today was to be a day for two games to start weeding out the teams into their groups.... my guess is winners and losers; ANYWAY, it rained ALL day and of course they did not play at all.... We were told around 4:30 this afternoon that the first game is now scheduled for around 11:00 am tomorrow.... well it's about 10:30 PM now (shhhhhhhh, my husband is sleeping and getting prepared for tomorrow) but, well, I looked out the window after hearing thunder and IT'S POURING RAIN again..... Hmmmmmm we're here till Friday; I hope they get to play "a" game this week :)
So far, all we've done the last two days is eat...... can't wait to get home and weigh in, but at least I don't have to cook and we are trying out new places.
Anyway, I didn't have time to prepare any cards before I left to show you but maybe I can get some pictures this week; the scenery is beautiful; I've never been here before. If we spend more time in this hotel room; I may be able to "finally" play with My Digital Studio and maybe put something together for you; either from the program or from photos I take. We'll see how much creative time I can come up with. Come back tomorrow for an update!!

Baby

It's rare that I must make a Baby card, but one of my good friends and downline just had a "BEAUTIFUL" baby..... So I combined pieces of several ideas from the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog to make this.....

I used a couple of samples (and my own ideas) from catalog to put this card together. I used Marina Mist Cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot using the diamond shaped empossing template for the background. then I tied a piece of 5/8" Marina Mist Grosgrain Ribbon on the fold. Using a piece of Watercolor Paper, I stamped the Buggy from the Fun and Fast Notes stamp set and colored the buggy in both blue and green inks using the watercolor crayons. I stamped "baby" from the Tiny Tags set and punched it with the mini tag punch and attached it to the buggy using Linen thread and Mini glue dots. I also added the small 3/8" brads for the wheels. After adhering the stamped image to Garden Green cardstock with dimensionals, I punched two flowers using the small flower punch and a circle with the small circle punch and one of the itty bitty buttons and added them under the image with Mini Glue Dots. I also used the spiral punch at the bottom edge for some interests. It turned out pretty cute and hope Katrina likes it. Her baby is absolutely the sweetest, gorgeous little guy ever!!!!

French Foliage

I already showed you this first card....... Even though I made it for my Brother's birday and liked it so well we made it in my clubs for September.
During the class when we were talking about how real these leaves look, it occurred to me that these would really be pretty using the "rock and roll" technique.

Aren't these leaves gorgeous???? I first stamped the leaf in Old Olive, then rocked it in Cherry Cobbler and a litte More Mustard for a really good fall look. I really liked how this turned out. I repeated the image all over the piece of Confetti Cream cardstock and then added the water drop look with Crumb Classic stamp pad. On the bottom of the card I attached some of the Autumn Spice designer series paper and attached a piece of Cajun Craze punched using the Scallop Edge Border Punch. Then I tied some 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon in a knot.
The greeting comes from the Afterthoughts Hostess stamp set and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. I punched another oval from Cajun Craze, cut it in half lengthwise and attached to the greeting for some interest.

Cased Birthday Card

Unfortunately, I made this card a while ago for my sister's birthday that is this coming Sunday....... and I don't remember when I saw it!!! If it's yours, please let me know and I will give you credit.

I thought this was so cute...... My card base is Whisper White and I attached two pieces of black and white paper from the Love Letter designer series paper. The top piece is rounded on the corners and "set up on dimensionals". Very unique; something I haven't done before. The bottom layer is also rounded on the bottom corners, but this piece is adhered to the card base. The ribbon is the new Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and is tied into "TWO" bows... pretty cute, huh? The flower is made from a different sheet in the same Love Letter pack and I cut a number of different circles; first being the new 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, the 1 1/4"; 1 3/8"; 1 1/4"; 1" and 3/4" Circle Punches. I then spritzed the pieces, wadded them up and unfolded, layered on each other, then inserted one of the new red Glimmer Brads. I attached the flower to the card with Mini Glue Dots.

The Greeting is from Occasional Quotes and punched out with the Modern Label Punch...... so tomorrow I will mail this today and hope she gets it in time.

Husband's Birthday

My husband's birthday is today!!!! I made him a card using the Autumn Spice Designers Series paper. It's so masculine and "heavy". I ran the top of my So Saffron Cardstock through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder for some extra texture. I cut the cardstock for the bottom and attached two strips (old olive and cajun craze) of cardstock and punch them both with the Pinking Hearts border punch and layered them all together then onto the card base of So Saffron.

Then using my 1 1/4" circle punch, I punched out one of the flowery images from the Autumn Spice designer series paper and another circle from Old Olive usng the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and the another piece of the Autumn Spice designer series paper using the new 2 3/8" Scallop Punch. I spritzed the big scallop circle and wadded it up for texture and using my Cutter Kit I scraped up the edges of the other two circles. I took my Crop-a-Dile and punched a hole in the center of the circles after they were adhered together and inserted a Jumbo Brad and a Rhinestone Brad in the middle and adhered to the card with dimensionals. The greeting was made using the word window punch and then using the Modern Label punch around the Word Window leaving the center open. Then I stamped the Birthday Wishes onto a piece of DSP and punched out again with the Modern Label punch and attached the two together. To make the Cajun Craze border at each end, I punched some Cajun Craze cardstock with the Modern Label punch, cut it in half and attached on each end. I inserted a couple small Rhinestone Brads on each end and attached to the card with dimensionals. Hope he likes it...... but better yet he's going to be happy to go shopping for a new Yard Blower since his old one died!!! Not only that, but we get to close on our re-finance tomorrow, saving us bookoo bucks!!! Yea!!!

One of my friends (Linda) had some round glass pieces with a hole at the top, perfect for an ornament and asked if I wanted to find something we could do with it. The glass pieces have a beveled edge making it even prettier than just a plain circle. I used one of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Set #2 and ran it through my Big Shot using a piece of a Decor Element sheet so it would stick onto the glass tightly. Since the snowflakes are "sizzlets" I had to add a couple pieces of cardstock to shim it up more in order for the die to cut the Decor Element Sheet. I attached the negative part of the cutout to the back of the glass and make sure it was tight around the image.
Then I used some glass etching cream and applied in all directions to the image and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then I washed the cream off the image and pulled off the element sheet.
I attached a piece of 1/8" Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon and tied another piece around the top of the ornament in a little bow.
I think this turned out pretty cute!! Thanks, Linda!!

French Foliage

I think I'm in LOVE.......... I love lots of stamp sets I purchase, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE French Folage showin in the 2010 Holiday Mini Catalog on page 14 (120845-wood/ 121166-clear)...

I have already used it on a number of cards, some of which I have already shown you. I think these leaves are so true to life it looks like I stamped using a "real" leaf in my yard. I have a few other ideas for this that I'll show you, maybe tomorrow.

I needed a birthday card for my brother, so came up with this using the new French Foliage stamp set. I pretty much used the idea for the placement of the stamps on the sample in the Mini Catalog, but I put the rest of the card together myself; using the new Autumn Spice cardstock, Pear Pizzazz cardstock and Very Vanilla cardstock. After I stamped the piece of Very Vanilla with all the leaves and other embellishments, I used the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz for added interest.

I loved how this turned out so I also decided to use for my September club. Most of the girls ordered it as well as the Cajun Craze cardstock...... It's such a lovely color and even richer than the Really Rust that just retired. Cherry Cobbler looks great next to Cajun Craze so to give it a little more oomph, I used the Cherry Cobbler brads for dimension and interest. Don't you love it????

More Halloween

This Halloween card is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square, fun size and still fits in the regular sized envelope. The stamp set used is shown in the Holiday Mini catalog on page 7 and is called "Dark and Dreary". This scard also has everything new ... don't you love the new Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder????

I ran the Basic Gray cardstock through the Big Shot using the Spider Web folder and sponged over the image lightly with the Basic Gray Classic Ink. Then, I spritzed the embossed image with the Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.

I added a piece of the new Night Owl designer series paper and attached some new 1/2" Black Lace trim to the middle. The stamped image is stamped from the Dark and Dreary stamp set in the Holiday Mini catalog. I used my markers and colored the words with the Old Olive marker and colored everything else with the Basic Black marker. I stamped again on some scrap cardstock coloring in the "31" with Tangerine Tango with the marker and punched out with the 1/2" circle punch and attached to the main image with a dimensional. The spider was also stamped and cut out from scrap cardstock and attached with a dimensional. Check out the black "jewels". These are found on page 8 of the Holiday Mini Catalog. You can either use the full flourish on something or just use the jewels separately. See how easy this is to make, just using a few of the new accessories to dress it up!!!!

Merry Christmas

This Christmas card is using lots of new products from both the 2010/2011 Idea Book & Catalog and the new Holiday Mini Catalog.
The base of the card is Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft) and measures 3 x 6". I covered the front with some of the new Deck the Halls designer series paper shown in the Holiday Mini catalog. I tore three of the edges and curled them up a bit, but left the bottom a straight edge. On top of that I used some Very Vanilla cardstock and cut into the shape of a "tag" and stamped with the "Christmas Postcard" stamp in the Holiday Mini Catalog. It was colored in with aqua painters using Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke and More Mustard classic inks. The edges were sponged with crumb cake classic ink. On the edge I attached a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock punch with the Scallop Trim Border. I then gathered and attached some of the new Victoria Crochet Trim shown in the 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalog on page 190. The inside of the scalloped edge on the "tag" I applied some Tombo Multi Purpose glue and sprinkled on some of the new Champagne Glass Glitter. It is so gorgeous and chunky.

Halloween Treat BAG

Good Morning Stampers. I was watching Angie Juda from Chic N Scratch on "Streaming Live" while she made this really cute Halloween Treat Bag..... it was so cute, I made it along with her!!! She used one of the new Mini Lunch sacks that measure 3 1/4" across. At the time I didn't have them yet, so I played around with a regular lunch sack until I could cut it down to the same size as the Mini ones (and let me tell you, that was a trick in itself!!!). I'm not showing you all the places where I had to tape the sack all over to get into a sack shape again ha ha. The images on this are from Halloween Hoot and I LOVE this witch!!! Up in corner, I punched out the bat from the brand new Mini Bat Punch shown in the 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalog and attached with dimensionals. The little frog was colored and cut out and attached using dimensionals as well so it would pop out. The top image is attached to the top portion of the covering on the bag with velcro. Isn't this a fun treat bag??? They are fast and easy to do and like everything else, doesn't have to carry a Halloween theme... Think Christmas!! I'll show you what I put together for Christmas.

Halloween Fun

I showed you pictures of my GIANT sunflower the other day; the picture was actually taken on 9-2-10 so it's now been 9 days. In that time the "flower" has grown huge and the little one underneath it seems to be growing pretty fast as well. Look at them NOW!!! If you look at the second picture closely you will also see a honey bee having breakfast LOL.

I finally got the Candy Wrapper Die for the Big Shot the other day and it's so fun. I have lots of plans for it, but for now, I will show you what I did for Halloween. I used the new Wicked Fun Designer Series paper and covered some Basic Black Cardstock before I ran it through the Big Shot. I punched a small hole on the edge of the fold and hung a small tag punched with the Small Tag Punch and stamped with "BOO" from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set.

I also played around with the Milk Carton Die and make a spooky little house. Since I closed off the top, I made access through the bottom to get the treats inside. The roof is so cute, I used the scallop edge die and stacked the pieces all the way down the roof. I decorated the cardstock for the carton using the Wicked Cool stamp set and attached a Mini Vintage Tag and attached the bat on a dimensional from the same set.

Look what I got today from Stamin' UP! I can't believe I've been a demonstrator for 5 years already..... I remember the DAY I signed up.... can you elieve my decision was for a set of Stampin' UP! classic ink pads????? Whatever it takes for you, to me it was the best decision of my life. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Stamping business and have enjoyed 4 conventions and three Regional events..... They are the BEST!!!

This month, you can get the Craft Tote valued for $40.00 free when you sign up as a demonstrator. I showed my husband my new "PIN" and he said 5 this year then another 25 years down the road.... I don't know if I can still stamp then, but I hope so ha ha ha.

I had a workshop at the end of last month and their orders came today. I gave them all a Thank You card using the French Foliage Stamp set that's in the Holiday Mini catalog. I really love this stamp set and hope it moves over into the 2011/2012 catalog next year. I think the leaves are so real looking... much more so than any other leaf stamp in the past. I will post something later showing the fall leaves incomparison to the stamp set. Did you notice the "retired notecard set"??? Well, the colors are now in again... can you believe it? Stampin' UP! may not sell these specific notecards any longer, but you can make the same thing using the scallop edge border punch and the same (or other cardstock) colors (the cardstock should measure 2 3/4" x 8") folded in half then the top edge punch with the scallop edge border punch. The envelopes measure 3" X 4 1/4" and aren't available anymore, but you could still use the regular medium sized envelopes (4 3/8" X 5 3/4") or the clear translucent envelopes.

One of my most favorite habits is sunflower seeds (I absolutely LOVE them). This spring my husband planted a "giant" sunflower on the side of the house, but because of the weather being so cool this summer i'm not sure we're going to actually get the sunflower seeds out of it. It has taken all this time for the plant to grow and I would never have believed how big it got. I was expecting maybe a large flower with lots of large seeds?????? Well, we still have to see about that, but look at this plant, it's up to the eve of the house. It's HUGE and look how large the stalk is on it; it's the size of some trees we've purchased!!! In the past any sunflower we have grown have only been maybe 6-7 feet high, so this was a total surprise to me. I'll let you know if we get anything from the flower or not.

I have a very special friend/customer who always orders lots of really fun stuff. So since she ordered outside her club or any other of my events, I wanted to thank her, so I made her a card that she can send to someone else if she wishes..... I always hesitate posting cards on my site because so many times I have cased them; thinking I haven't a creative bone in my body.. I know I've mentioned before that when i actually create them, I receive more comments than if I copied someone elses.... ha Anyway, this card is totally created by me... I hope there isn't one like it out there somewhere because it would be a total accident. Both of the stamp sets used are hostess sets out of the 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalog. Flower Power Party

I forgot to show you the pictures of the Flower Power Party on the first night we arrived. The first picture shows Shelli Gardner and her husband....(Shelli is the one in the hat and her husband is next to her..... she's the CEO and founder of Stampin' UP!) The rest of the pictures are random...

I Some of the outfits/costumes were absolutely perfect and wouldn't you know I didn't get pictures of most of them..... we were crowding into the gathering room (if you haven't been to convention, you won't know what I'm talking about.... it's sort of like Running with the bulls in spain) ha ha The wonderful things I saw were as I was being pushed through the group, not time to stop to take pictures....... but here's a lot of what we saw. There were contests with hula hoops and dancing, etc. and give-a-ways of free Stampin' UP! products.... what a fun night!!!!

Sweet Shop

Oh My gosh, I almost forgot to show you the best thing at Convention........ We toured the Riverton Office where they had displays of things, in addition to lots of other places; but in their Sample room and also on display at the Convention Center was the "SWEET SHOP". Look closely at the items I'm showing you..... blow them up for a really good look. ALL OF THESE ARE MADE OUT OF PAPER!!!!!!! (or buttons). This was so fun to see. It looked like you could just pick up one of these items and eat them they were so REAL! These are just a FEW of the things on display; I can't believe how incredible they were.

Definitely Decorative

Oh Look, what fun are the Definitely Decorative images!!!!! Not only is the Happy Halloween a part of the Dark and Dreary Stamp set but it's also a Decor Element. Check out this fun frame that was decorated using several stamp sets as well as the Decor Element on the top of the glass. It is gorgeous in person. The picture doesn't do it justice.

This next picture is of a coaster used for a coffee cup. It couldn't be easier to make..... a piece of thin batting was used between the new Stampin' UP! fabric and tacked down on the corners and center.

Look how cute this coffee cup is using Decorative Elements on the cup. What a fun inexpensive gift ( the cup and the coaster). It's recommended that you wash the cups by hand as these adhesive may come off in the dishwasher.

This next picture is of a Luminary. It was made using the new Night Owl Designer series paper. One section of the square was cut out using the Top Note die and Vellum cardstock with a Decorative Spider Element placed over the punched area. The top of the Luminary is decorated using the new Waffle Paper and gathered around the top with stick strip first put on the cardstock.

All you have to do is place a votive or a battery candle inside to illuminate it.

I thought I would share with you what Kimberly VanDiepen does to get new customers every time she moves....... it's fabulous. I decided I would try the same thing so I made up around 50 cello bags with the fabulous new Holiday Mini Catalog, my Business Card and a Mini Note Card made from one of the Mini Catalog Samples in the book.....
I made these cute little notecards using the new French Foliage stamp set. I really love this stamp set, it's the closest I've seen to leaves in a long time and these cards turned out so cute. I used Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron and Early Espresso classic inks. I also used a metallic brad to hold "grateful" onto the card.
I've only given out a few at this point, but the plan is to give out 5 a day.... this is a challenge to me and if you want to increase your customer base I challenge you. If you try this, let me know how it works for you!!!

Stampin' UP! Fabric

Did you know that Stampin' UP! has come up with Fabric that matches some of the new Designer Series Papers (Candy Cane Christmas and Deck the Halls)?. It is so cool. At our Demonstrator Demo meeting one of the gals showed what she has done with the fabric with quilting. She used her big shot and big shot dies to cut the images that she sewed into her runners or wall hangings. The other things she came up with is the card with her Monogram. The cardstock on the card was made by using her stamp pad and running it along the cardstock to make it sort of "woody looking". The next card (don't pay any attention to my really vibrant "fingerprints" I got on it after I came home... of course I can't get rid of it) is cutting circles using the big shot and the fabric and adhering it on using the fabric adhesive and an iron... same thing with the monogram above. this last item is a scrapbook page...... now how easy is this????? The page is using one of the pages from the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper set, adding a piece of the new "seam binding" down the edge; then a piece of the new fabric after it was gathered with thread next to the seam binding. How simple and gorgeous these new products are......

AND, look at this great coaster using the fabric with the fabric adhesive sheets!!! What a fun gift for someone!!

Witches - EEEEEK

My swap card from the new 2010/2011 Idea Book & Catalog at our monthly demonstrator meeting was using the new stamp set "Wicked Cool". I really LOVE this set. I used a couple of new things out of the new Holiday Mini Catalog on this as well.
First of all I stamped the bats on the bottom of the new Crumb Cake Cardstock (formerly Kraft) using VersaMark. I added a strip of Basic Black cardstock on the middle section of the card and wrapped a piece of Pumpkin Pie 1/8" taffeta ribbon around it before attaching to the Crumb Cake. I took a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the spider web from the Wicked Cool stamp set, then using the NEW FUN Spider Web Textured empressions Embossing folder (120889) I ran my whisper white cardstock through the big shot to get an impressed spider web. On a piece of scrap paper I stamped the hat the cute witches shoes in Basic Black classic ink and colored in with a pumpkin pie marker. Then I "tediously" cut out the shoes and attached both the hat and shoes with dimensions for that 3D effect. Do you see the fun stuff on the right side? That's our new Basic Black Waffle paper. It comes in a set with Early Espresso (120985). I cut off a strip about an inch wide, then after attaching some sticky strip to the side of the whisper white, I gathered the waffle paper onto the sticky strip leaving a little black ruffle on the side. It's so much fun to use. Waffle paper also comes in Silver and Gold (120984) as shown on page 21 of the Holiday Mini.
To finish off my card I stamped the greeting in Basic Black ink on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and punched out with the Large Oval Punch. I layered that piece onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and added a few black brads and attached to the edge of the card using dimensionals.
Do you like????? My group did, it won first place in the swap contest!!

Simply Adorned Charms

Have you ordered your Simply Adorned Charm yet??? At our demonstrator demo day one of the girls (Britney Slaughter) showed us what she is doing at her classes with the Simply Adorned Charms. I am showing you a picture of Britney's 1" x 1 1/4" charm which was made with the new Just Believe stamp set. She added some of the new Pearls to the image and a Pearl Charm to the base, which is new in the Holiday Mini Catalog. Her charm is hung by one of the new 1/8" taffeta ribbons.

Britney's classes are all ordering the charm necklace and will make an insert each month according to the theme for the month. In this case, the September insert will be the small alphabet and apple. October will be the really cute spider and web for Halloween.

The fall and winter months for Thanksgiving and Christmas are represented by the pine cones and snowman.

Aren't these darling? She also said the group is participating in a ribbon share so each of the girls will get a yard of each color in the 1/8" Taffeta ribbon group so they will have a ribbon to match everything they wear..... What a fun idea!!!

I have my charm, but haven't had a chance to really play with it yet. when I put together some of my own inserts, I will show you.

Mystery Night

One night a couple of weeks ago I held a Mystery Card Night... we really had fun. What I did was prepare three cards, but I only gave the cut out supplies and accessories to them that I used and did not show them the cards I made until after they were done. At first they were really lost as to what to do, but after the night was over, they all want to do it again.......

The first card we did was using Sweet Scoops from the Summer Mini Catalog.

My card is the first one along with the prize for the Sweet Scoops winner....... Unfortunately there were only three brave participants (and it looks like I failed to get one of the pictures). Look how good all of them were and they had to use their imagination with the pieces and parts I gave them.

The next card we did was Sentimental Journey...... Again, mine is the first one with the prize associated to the card (I actually made up a pattern to make a suitcase..... and it "worked"!!!). Everyone elses is just as good or better than what I did.

The next card we did was using the Apple Blossoms Hostess Set. My card is the first one with the prize and the others are so great!!!!!

So don't you think this is an awesome idea? It gives the stampers some insite to creativity and make them less afraid to create something on their own. This is something I will be offering again soon!! Let me know what you think of this idea.

Boy, It's Been a LONG Time

Whew!!!! It's been a LONG time since I've posted anything...... I have lots to share with you so lets start with our Club Party......

One of my club sessions ended in August (of course they all signed up again for the next term), but we decided that this last session we would have a PARTY because #1. it was the last night of the club session and #2. for one of our members who has been battling cancer and was THROUGH with all chemo and radiation and it was her "hostess" night. A couple of the gals brought a Raspberry Tart Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory and a couple others brought "the drinks" and I did the decorating... I used the Pennant Die for the Big Shot and made the banner across the room that said "Celebrate Linda" made out of the purples and lavenders that Linda likes. You can't see very well, but when I was at Convention this year the Riverton House had all kinds of fun decorations and I really liked the circle pinwheels that were hanging from the ceiling so I thought that would be fun too. Mine are hanging from the light. We all had balloons, the theme was "flowers" so you can see all our colorful shirts and Leis!!!

Linda surprised all of us with a special treat as well. She does beautiful glass work, and she made each of us a little vase that hangs from the wall and can hold water as well. We are all holding ours, but it's hard to see what they look like. Here is a picture of mine; I absolutely LOVE it!! Everyone's was different.

We had such a fun evening and everyone made sure Linda received good hostess benefits..... I almost had to get a trailer to take everything to her when the order came LOL.

On Board Book - Briefcase

I am soooooo BAD about purchasing things and then never using them because the occassion isn't right... well, I had purchased the Briefcase On Board Book when the Summer Mini Catalog first came out with good intentions and my ideas were so different that what actually came to life. I also have the Cog On Board Book that I want to do something fun with......
Anyway, I decided using the Briefcase On Board book would be fun for scrapping some of my "small adventures" during the 2010 Stampin' UP Convention this year.

The following is what I put together... I know it needs some helpk but It's still cute and reminds me of what happened this year....... check it out.. If you were there maybe it will bring back some memories as well HA. Sorry about the sideways pictures, but I think you can get the picture.

As I was making this I thought about so many other pictures I should have taken to remember..... my thoughts at the time were obviously not in the right place.

Gifts are a girls best friend

Maybe that was diamonds????? Well anyway, one of of my dear friends and fellow demonstrator, Pat Dion, gave me this really cute Post-It-Note holder with a pen. Isn't this the cutest? She cut some chipboard using her Square Scallop Die for the Big Shot and sponged craft ink on the front side. Then she attached Designers Series Paper as a cover for the post-it-notes. The post-it-notes are then attached to the center using the sticky back on the notes. The cover was then enhanced with cardstock after stamping flower images from the Friends Never Fade stamp set then another stamp from the set was inked and stamped on whisper white cardstock and cut out, then attached with dimensionals. The pad was topped off with a binder clip covered with designer series paper and the new 3/8" taffeta ribbon attached and tied in a bow. A pen was also included with designer series paper inserted into the barrel to match. What a really fun gift to receive and "give"...... why don't you try to make one and leave me a link with what you do; I would love to see them.

More Convention Make & Takes

These are more Make & Takes from Convention. This little pouch would make a cute gift for a friend for almost any occassion. This is a sheet of 3 1/2" X 12" Pear Pizzazz cardstock, scored at 5 1/4" and 10 1/2". On the short end, cut from the fold on each side leaving a 1" section in the center. What we did to make sure the punched section lined up in the right spot for the piece that tucks in..... we punched a white piece using the word window punch and very lightly attached it to the short end that was already cut leaving the 1" section barely inside. Then we put heavy adhesive on the top part of the word window piece. we folded down the flap and the white piece stuck to the larger section of the cardstock. We then inserted the word window punch and punched "out" the white piece, leaving an exact spot for the tab.

Using versamark ink we stamped the flower image from "Just Believe" stamp set on the front of the pouch and then stamped the greeting "Just for You" in Early Espresso above the flowers. On the inside the pouch we attached a small cellophane bag inside using Sticky Tape. In the pocket of the cellophane bag, we inserted the little 1 1/2" X 3" cards. The little cards were made using a stamp from "Just Believe" and the circle was cut out with a 1 1/4" circle punch and adhered to the small card. the word friends was stamped onto the small circles in early Espresso Ink. A small flower from the stamp set of the "window" was colored with Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz inks and punched out with the Jewelry tag and attached to the ribbon with a small piece of linen thread. The ribbon bow was tied and attached to the flap with mini glue dots.

This next card is using the new "Just Believe" stamp set from the 2010 Idea Book & Catalog. On this one we stamped on Watercolor paper because after we colored our stamp with the Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive Stampin' Write markers, we spritzed the stamp with water and then stamped on the paper and set aside to dry. After it was dry, we stamped the greeting using Not Quite Navy classic ink. Then we used the color spritzer tool and spritzed on some Not Quite Navy ink all over the piece.

We tore the paper from the top down the side a ways, then attached to a piece of Bashful Blue cardstock and tore again leaving paper on the outside edge of the Not Quite Navy. A piece of Certainly Celery 5/8" satin ribbon was attached to the bottom and we attached a button with linen thread through the holes to the ribbon with mini glue dots. this hole piece was then attached to the 6" X 6" Not Quite Navy card base

Convention Make & Takes

During convention we get to make some really fun projects..... I'll show you a few today and more tomorrow... This first card is really pretty... and simple to make. It's a 3X3 card and using a 2 1/2" circle template we sponged Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz classic
inks. Then using the stamp from "Just Believe" we stamped in Early Espresso Ink, stamped off and then stamped on the card. Again using another stamp from the "Just Believe" set, we stamped the greeting in Early Espresso and stamped in the circle and over the flower image.

The next project is really cute. There are three 3X3 cards and a holder made from a Small Open-End Whisper White envelope. We cut the envelope across a long edge, then licked the flap to close the envelope. We folded the envelope in half, then using a 1" circle punch, we punched in the center of each square of the fold at the top to easily remove the cards and envelopes that will be put inside. This project is using a new single stamp "So Many Thanks". You can see that we used the Stampin' Write Markers to color the stamp... the work Thanks is colored in Marina Mist, the hearts in Real Red and the "so much" in Daffodil Delight. The greeting attached to the envelope is set up on dimensionals, so then we threaded a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4" grosgrain ribbon through and around and tied in a bow. Pretty cute, huh?

This next card is really simple. The stamp set used is "Paisley Prints" and the "thanks" is from the So Many Thanks single stamp used above...
We pierced holes at the top of the Peach Parfait strip and attached both the Peach Parfait and the Pear Pizzazz cardstock to the Soft Suede Cardstock base. Using the Paisley Prints stamp set, we stamped the heart using Versa Mark onto Pretty in Pink cardstock and punched out using the Full Heart Punch. The heart is attached to the card with dimensionals. A little flower punched with the itty bitty shapes punch was attached using a mini glue dot and a small adhesive backed pearl. Also the word "thanks" from the So Many Thanks stamp set was inked with a marker and stamped onto whisper white card stock and punched out using the Jewelry Tag Punch. The tag was attached with a mini glue dot along with a bow tied with Linen Thread.

Isn't this the cutest little purse ever???? My upline made these cute little purses with CHOCOLATE inside for our group swap on Thursday at Convention. I told her "after 5 years" that during all the time I was stamping with her before I joined as a Demonstrator that "EVERYTHING" we made that had chocolate or other candy in it......... STILL has the candy in it. I can't bear to take the projects apart...... they all have a memory and are a good "sample" for future use. Everything we made is packed away safely LOL.

Did you notice the pretty glittered butterfly on the front? That was made using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die.

Presto Patterns Paper

I saw the new tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers for Smooch Spritz and thought I'd try it. I made it using the same colors they did; Pacific Point CS and Ink and the Presto Patterns Paper. I sponged Pacific Point ink heavy in some spots and lighter in others onto the Presto Patters Paper. Then I sprayed the gold Smooch Sprits onto the paper and sponged it around. It's really nice with the gold glittery look over the Pacific Point Blue. I stamped the word "Imagine" from the stamp set "Word Play", but you can't really see it; next time I will use a different ink or probably emboss it so it stands out better. I attached the Presto Patterns Paper to a piece of Pacific Point that was already cut out using the Top Note Die. The white cardstock underneath, was made using the Big Shot and the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and sponged lightly over with Pacific Point Classic Ink. I cut down the normal size of the white cardstock so it would fit onto a piece of 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" Pacific Point cardstock. I also corner rounded the bottom of the white CS and the Pacific Point cardstock. Using up some of my pretties kit that has retired I attached several silk flowers on the side; some with the little stems on them and several without. The flowers without the stem, I attached a few sticky back rhinestones. I decided that wasn't blingy enough, so I then Smooch Spritzed the Whole card using the Vanilla Shimmer then I dusted on some Dazzling Diamonds.

Pat Dion & Erlene Kuntz.... turns out they are from the same town and high school back in Montana.

These girls are from the Charley Jenkins band (that's me in the middle). They were so great. I have a picture with Charley Jenkins too, but by the end of the evening my camera battery died, so someone else took my picture with him and is going to send it to me soon.

This little Cutie is also with the Charley Jenkins band. she played the fiddle and they announced that she is currently also on America's Got Talent..... I may have missed her since I haven't seen her yet... maybe she's still up-coming.

Our group of Stampers from "Stampadelicious" met at lunch on Thursday during convention and had a private swap between just us. We also did a quick make & take. I made these cute little purses designed by Becky Roberts. I think they are absolutely the cutest and I also made cute little 3X3 notecards to go inside.

CONVENTION, Here I come!!!!!!!

So excited....... I leave for Convention on Wednesday morning... I've been working for several days on a "WOW" swap for my Demonstrator Group. I'm really excited about what I came up with; but I can't show you now, someone might see it before I UNVEIL it on Thursday. This year seems so more exciting than the past with all the new colors and accessories and "products" that I can't wait to see what they have to show us.......... so I can show 'you'. Tomorrow I need to get things ready and pack as I leave early Wednesday morning.......
This is a swap card I made for our demonstrator group meeting last week. I absolutely LOVE this new Owl Punch. Every piece of the owl is included in this punch, you just need to punch several different colors and DSP to make him really pop out. On this card I also used the bird punch for the branch he is sitting on. Everything on this card is using new stuff (except the bird punch). The greeting is in the new perfect punches set. The ribbon is the Poppy Parade stitched poly ribbon; the DSP is Sunny Garden, the returning Wild Wasabi Cardstock, the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and the cardstock base is also Poppy Parade. I really love this new color. Did you notice the NEW 2 2/3" scallop /circle punch???? Love it.
When I get back from Convention on Saturday night, I will share some of the fun stuff we did, pictures, and new ideas........ Until then, have a nice rest of the week.

Owl Punch

Have you purchased the new Owl Punch yet? OH MY GOSH!!!!!!, it's one of the cutest things I've ever seen. All the pieces are included in "one" punch; but you need to punch in different colors to get the desired look. There are actually 9 (can you believe it) pieces in this two step extra large punch. I only punched a few scraps I had on my desk, but I need to actually use some designer paper and really cutesy this up a bit and use it on a final project. You are going to see this owl in a lot of projects I create......... I am so excited about this new addition to the Stampin' UP! Idea and Catalog!!
Maybe tomorrow, I will have something put together showing how cute this is on a card!

Giraffe Invitation

A while back Carrie Rhoades posted a Giraffe Punch Art Card; I thought it was so cute I made one just like her's for my Grandson. Before I sent it though, I took it to work for "show and tell". Anything I thought was different and outstanding I would take to work to show others. One of the girls liked it so well, she asked me to make her son's birthday invitations like Carrie's card. Oh my gosh........ there are so many pieces and parts to put these together. She needed 18 cards. So, here's the work in progress and the final piece of ART!!! I hope she likes how they turned out. They really did turn out cute!!!

Another Card and Bag Topper

I previously showed you some cards and Treat Bag Toppers that a friend asked me to put together for an event she was having; then she asked me to have a class for thes one she did not pick for the event. We had our class this week and made the previous ones I showed you and the one here. I thought the Little Umbrella for this Tropical Party set was so cute and it's so easy to make. I found it shown on another website, but don't know now where it came from. You take a 4 X 4 piece of designer series paper and fold it like an accordian. Mine is approximately in 1/2" folds. When that is done, you fold it in half and using mini glue dots, you attach the two sides together making a "fan". I then attached a toothpick to the edge of the fold and then some more on the outside edge so I could attach it to my topper. Before I saw that I was actually thinking about buying some of those cute umbrellas you put in drinks..... this was much more economical. Unfortunately, the card was totally cased. Didn't this turn out cute..... Everyone had fun making these; I think the candy in each bag was the big "hit" lol

Retiring papers, inks

I went through all my cardstocks, ink pads and markers and pulled them out of the mix; now I just hope I can keep them separated until 7-1-10 while I still use them. I still need to pull all my retiring Designer Series papers, punches and Stamp Sets..... but I can't show you the stamp sets since I offered a contest to "guess" how many stamp sets, including hostess and wheels I am losing this year. If you can guess the "number" I am losing, I will let you choose one of the retiring stamp sets of your choice FREE!!!!! So place your guess by email and on 7-1-10 I will let you know who wins. I thought I would share with you the papers, with the new change-out that I am losing this year as well as the stamp pads and markers. My Stampin' Markers set I have sure looks empty I think there are only 16 or 17 markers left that are carried over. It looks like I will have a pretty heavy sale after July 1st, huh?

I showed you one of the Cards and bags with toppers the other day that I did for a Church Retreat, but I have more. The one I'm showing you today is the one that the organizer chose to have their guests make. This is using the new Elements of Style shown on page 12 of the Summer Mini Catalog. The whole card is made using only black ink on white cardstock. The image was stamped on the base of the card as well as the piece lifted by dimensionals. What do you think of the flower. This was made using the Round Scallop Punch. You punch out 8-10 pieces and crumple them all up and unfold them, pierce the center, insert a brad and then pull "each" piece to the center and crumple again, then carefully fold out each of the petal layers. You can then apply the flower to the card using several mini glue dots. The topper piece of the goodie bag is made using the Top Note Die. I stamped the whole image, so if you turn this over, the image is also on the back side. On the white piece, I detached the area around the perforated outside so it would lay on the black die cut showing a border. The greeting of "For You" is also a stamp from this set. This was stamped on white cardstock and punched out using the 1" circle punch, then punching the outside layer in black using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.

If you haven't checked out the Retiring Accessories list you will be surprised at how much is already sold out. If there are any papers, ink pads, etc. you were wanting DON'T HESITATE TO ORDER.... they are going really fast.

One of the Stamp Sets retiring is Bloomin' Beautiful (111490 $25.95 on page 98). This has been one of my all time favorites. I made a little goodie bag and topper and the "easel" card recently. You will notice the Kraft and Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbons used are also retiring.

Just Had to Share this really Cute Painting Project

I was reading one of my magazines tonight and ran across the cutest idea for painting. Of course this is done on a dresser, but I can imagine this on a small accent wall...... this is such a fun design and who would have ever thought. The dresser was painted normally with a solid color, then they inked up a "really clean" raw ear of corn and rolled it in ink and then onto the dresser drawers. I really liked the effect this gave. I keep looking at my stamp room walls and wondering if there isn't some small place I can do this then accent it with one of our Decor Element items.... How cute would that be?????

Demonstrator Cards from Demo Meeting

I told you yesterday I would try to send you some pictures of the demonstrations that Carrie Rhoades did at our Demonstrators Meeting for May. I obviously need some picture taking lessons; I think it's the lighting I choose or don't choose that things come out washed out looking or orange.... If I use my flash in dark areas, it washes things out...... anyway, you get the idea... this first card is using the new Motorcycle Stamp in the back of the new Summer Mini catalog on page 31. This is the only stamp and you can purchase it for $8.95. Carrie used the new Square Lattice Embossing folder on the black, and also used a white crayon on the areas of the motorcycle she wanted to highlight, then she rubbed ink over the whole Glossy White cardstock, then wiped any ink off the crayon areas (crayon resist technique). To save area being spritzed; she put the entire card together before she used the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz shown on page 15 of the Summer Mini Catalog.

This next card, she showed us how to make our own Template for the Big Shot using the Daisy Die. She took a 5"x6" piece of cardstock and then cuts lots of the smaller daisies with the big shot. She glued two daisies together for each impression and glued them each onto the 5x6" piece of cardstock. Then using the acrylic pads and the Multi-Purpose pad she ran this yellow piece of cardstock on top of the template through the Big Shot and wa-la..... a daisy template. The rest is pretty self explanatory (cutting the large daisies and glueing them together. The center of the flower is fun because it's a circle of chocolate chip cardstock and worked heavily with the bone folder until the paper split in half. Using the inside of the circle, it's sort of velvety looking, she glued that in the center.

What do you think of this bee? How cute is this. You can see Carrie again used the daisy template for the background and used one of the texture plates for the red cardstock for texture. The bee is made from punches. The head is using one of the hearts from the trio heart punch. the eyes are using two different sized circle punches and the body is using a larger circle.... I can't remember the sizes of the circles without actually trying to put it together. The stripes on the bee are just irregular strips of cardstock, glued on and trimmed with your paper snips. this heart is using another of the hearts from the Trio Heart Punch. The wings were punched using the oval punch and white cardstock and then two more punched with vellum cardstock. The stinger and antenaes were just cut with the paper snips. I think this is so darling. Oh, and the diamond pattered paper behind the bee is using the new Presto Patterns Specialty Paper shown on page 15 of the Summer Mini Catalog. This paper is white with glossy designs.... you reveal the pattern by using the Smooch Spritz or by using your sponge daubers and rubbing the ink on, then wiped off with a tissue to remove any ink from the glossy pattern. The basic portion of the paper is just heavy cardstock so you can also use your aqua painter, brayer or pastels.

This last card is again using the homemade daisy template and the daisy die for the Big Shot. Carrie used her sponge dauber and highlighted the centers of the background daisies in this sample. She also used the Pink Hearts Border Punch. the really fun part of this is the center of the yellow daisies. Using the Tombow Liquid Glue she added the Black Chunky glitter. The glitter really made the card.

She made other samples as well, but the pictures didn't turn out at all. One of the other fun things she made was a really gorgeous flower using the new Bigz Die in the Summer Mini Catalog shown on page 27. Using the leaf, she sponged the outside edges in a pink color and the center using a yellow ink and curled the petals. She used 5 petals for the flower. They were all glued together at the small end to make the flower and inserted a half pearl in the center. she attached the flower to the outside of the Basket in the Basket & Blooms Bigz xl dies for the Big Shot. Really Cute!!! She had decided to try to make the flower because she thought she could recreate a flower she got on the incentive trip (paid by Stampin' UP!) in Hawaii.

I hope that gave you some more ideas of how we as demonstrators keep in touch with each other and help each other out as well as the other benefits we receive. We all enjoy each other immensely and gain lots of information and knowledge from each other to help us with our business.

Our fantastic group gets together once a month at one of our homes. I am going to show you all of the make and takes we did in May......... Drum Roll, PLEASE!!!!!! This first card is so fun and cute; it uses the

Vintage Vogue stamp set and with a little cutting and piecing it turned out fabulous. Isn't this a cute design???

The next item is a tag that was cut using the Big Shot and the Bigz Two Tags die. The tag was then covered with the Island Oasis designer series paper as shown on page 27 of the new Summer Mini catalog. The big flower is from the Fancy Flower punch and the leaves and small flower from the Bigz Island Floral Die also on page 27 of the Summer Mini catalog. Did you notice the cute flower brad in the center??? You can find that in the 2009/2010 Idea Book and Calendar on page 179. The saying on the back is from one of the stamps in the new Favorite Thoughts stamp set shown on page 19 of the Summer Mini Catalog. I think this set is a MUST-HAVE for ALL women..... it says it all!!!! Then we inserted one of the Jumbo Eyelets in the hole and threaded in a piece of So Saffron 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.

The third item is using a piece from the new On Board Books "Briefcase" shown on page 23 of the Summer Mini Catalog. There are 8 briefcase pieces that come with a couple of metal rings to hold together as a book, or you can also just use one piece as a card or gift for someone. the book is only $4.95 and there are so many options using this. We covered the front and back using the new Travel Journal designer series paper on page 23 of the Summer Mini and stamped the images on the front with Night of Navy CRAFT ink (which is a pigment ink and dries slowly, making it perfect for embossing). After we stamped the images in ink, we applied Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it. The stamp set is "Sentimental Journey" on page 22 of the Summer Mini. As I looked at my picture I noticed that what we used as a sample had Night of Navy sponged on the edges..... I chose not to do that at the meeting because we were using Craft Ink and I didn't want it to smudge and smear while I carried it around; my plan was to do that when I got home..... I have now done that with mine, but the picture doesn't show it. You can also see we used a piece of the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware for a greeting and did you notice the cute little tag hanging from the handle? That's also in the Summer Mini Catalog on page 15. The paper inside is sort of a "gold" color which is really vintage looking; which is good because they are called "Mini Vintage Tags" LOL.

These are just a few samples of what we actually "made". I took pictures of the demonstrations, but my pictures aren't very good. I'll show you the ones that turned out tomorrow.

Isn't this the cutest card ever??? This little bear is so fun and easy to make. All you need is the Bigz Circle Scallop #2 die, the Large Oval Punch, the 1" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch; the 1/4" Circle Punch and the small heart punch. The greeting is from the "Beary Nice Wishes" stamp set.

And what a "SWEET" hug when you close his arms!!

This would be such an appropriate card, not only for Valentines day but for when someone needs a "Pick Me Up".

Special Friends

My friend and Upline, Beth, gave me this really gorgeous fun card..... it's so Springy; I just wish our weather was.

Beth used some fun punches and embossing folder to create the flowers in the vase. The ornament punch is the vase with the bottom cut off and popped up over the stamped flowers using dimensionals. The greeting is using the Oval Scallop Punch and the Large Oval Punch and the Word Window Punch. I absolutely love the Polka Dot embossing folder; isn't it fun? And it's so cute with the polka dots in the DSP.

I was talking above about how I wish our weather would cooperate and at least be springy especially since it's almost Summer!!!!! My grandson is the catcher on his High School baseball team and they've been in the Championship State playoffs. Unfortunately yesterday there was a really odd call from the Umps and resulted in them losing the game; which put them into the losers bracket which played today for 3rd place in State. We all arrived at the game just as it was beginning to rain, they played one inning with our team in the lead and they had to keep stopping the game to fix the pitchers mound so it wouldn't be slick.... finally, they all pow-wowed and decided to put the tarp over the field so it didn't get worse and wait out the rain; unfortunately, they had to call the game and made both teams 3rd place. what a bummer, huh? We came home pretty wet and cold.... at least he has one more year to make it an even better year.

Summer Splendor DSP

My Digital Studio is so fun to work with. These fabulous new Designer Series Papers are only available in this program. Isn't this so gorgeous? If you click on the "digital" stamping it will take you to the available downloads. Look under the "paper" and find Summer Splendor... they are ALL so pretty .

All I did was Print the area of the DSP I wanted onto my Whisper White cardstock and trimmed to the size I wanted for my card. I also took some Garden Green cardstock and Pumpkin Pie cardstock and ran them through my Big Shot using the new lattice square embossing folder found in the new Summer Mini Catalog. I love the look of this impression and it makes the paper feel so soft and pliable. I attached my image to the Garden Green piece and folded the outside edge around the Pumpkin Pie embossed piece and attached them to the YoYo Yellow cardstock, then onto my Garden Green Card Base, after attaching some Crushed Curry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon on the edge. Then if you haven't tried the new Smooch Spritzers, you absolutely have to have them. The second photo shows where I sprayed some Vanilla Shimmer on the entire card. See how pretty and sparkly it is?
Well, it's time to get ready for work and I'm excited about later this afternoon because I'm going to watch my Grandson, Jordan, play for the Idaho State Baseball Championship!! Their team, Rocky Mountain High School, is doing so awesome, especially since the school is only in it's 2nd year of existence.

ANOTHER CLUB CARD

The third card we made on Club Night was using the Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set.

This one was lots of fun and used so many products. The basic card is Whisper White and at the bottom we ran a piece of So Saffron through the Big Shot using the Manhatten Embossing Folder. Then on top of that we adhered a piece of Rich Razzleberry CS after using the Scallop Edge Punch. This was layered onto the White CS after Stamping the big flower in Rich Razzleberry and the smaller flower in Night of Navy. The smaller flowers were stamped on So Saffron and Old Olive CS in VersaMark, then we used the White Embossing powder and heated them. then we cut around them and attached to the card with dimensionals. The pearl in the center of the flower was using the Pretties Kit. The greeting is stamped onto Whisper White CS and punch out using the large Oval Punch. A piece of Rich Razzleberry was punched with the Scallop Oval Punch, adhered together and attached with dimensionals. The last step was to tie a piece of 1 1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon around the card and tied into a knot.

One of the other cards we made on Club Night this month was using the Sweet Scoops Stamp set from the new Summer Mini. I absolutely LOVE this set and it's so versatile. Don't you love those cute little Bitty Buttons??? I really like the shape the card gets when corner rounding a couple of the corners, really sets it off.

Mothers Day

I'm a little slow to show you what I received for Mothers Day, but I do want to share with you. My son in California sent me an absolutely beautiful bouquet full of gorgeous lillies. It took all week for them to all bloom. It's been a week and I only have 3 left.

My Daughter brought me this beautiful hanging basket of Begonias.... they are so pretty. I just hope I can keep them alive; these baskets really dry out fast and they usually get away from me.

Then my stepdaughter brought over this fun Topsy Turvy Strawberry planter. I had just bought ONE strawberry plant to put in a pot, so I sent my husband back to the store and had him get 11 more plants since the Topsy Turvy has a place for 12 plants. My other stepdaughter brought me a hanger to put it on, but my husband already had 2 Topsy Turvy tomato plants on a 4-place hanger, so he wanted to put it on what he already had and also felt he needed to balance it with a THIRD tomato planter. We had so many tomatoes last year with two, now I might even have to can them :)

Club night was last week and one of the cards we made is this fun easy one using the Medallion Background Stamp. This is really shimmery; hard to photograph.

I had a class this month making the purses that Becky Roberts created for Mothers Day; they are all sooo cute. We used the Sweet Pea Designer Series paper and I think EVERY ONE of them turned out differently with each persons creativity. I thought you might like to see each of them.......

Kiara is the 6 year old daughter of my downline Chrysti. She is so darling and did almost all the work on the purse herself; she is amazing!! Good job, Kiara!

Just look how hard she's concentrating on this project....

I don't know what my problem is tonight, but I had a heck of a time putting these pictures together..... I probably uploaded too many pictures at one time because I can't seem to put names to pictures........ Hopefully everyone will forgive me. It's amazing though even with the "same" papers all purses are different. We all had a good time and also made 4 cards using the Awash with Flowers stamp set for all of them.

Stampin' UP! announced they are making a new COLOR RENOVATION starting with the new catalog to be launched in July. I'm so excited about the new colors and some of the Old Colors COMING BACK!! There are five BRAND NEW colors that will be part of the Core Group of Colors and Color Families and there will also be five more NEW IN COLORS announced next month. Stampin' UP! also announced that the IN COLORS will now be available for two years instead of just one!!! Yay. Now we can get more use out of the supplies we purchase.

I know it seems a little daunting, but the five brand new core colors are definitely going to be some of my favorites; they're just the right shades. You will notice that several of this year's In-Colors will now be part of the new COLOR CORE and aren't you glad to see that Riding Hood Red is in as well?????

This is going to be such a FUN FRESH year. I can't wait to go to Convention in July to see what else they are and will be unveiling and the new products that will be available.

Anyway, back to cards.......our group of demonstrators had our monthly meeting this month and Carrie Rhoades did five demonstrations of ideas for us to use; she always has such fun, fantastic ideas. I was able to take pictures, so I will post them as I go along this next week. We also had card swap among us and the one I'm going to show you first is mine.

I used Ruby Red Cardstock for my base (one of the Retiring Colors) attached a strip of bashful blue tafetta ribbon from the top to the bottom edge, then layered Always Artichoke and Bashful Blue on top of that after roughing up the edges with my Cutter Kit. I used Soft Suede for my top image and stamped the floral image from Vintage Vogue on the top and bottom with Soft Suede ink after "stamping off" once so the image wasn't too bright. Stampin' UP! has a new Smooch Spritzer which you will see in the new Summer Mini Catalog.... the Spritzers come in a Gold Glow, Silver Foil, Vanilla Shimmer and Log Cabin colors. For this I used the Gold Glow and put in my Color Catcher (also new in the Summer Mini) and spritzed the cardstock "just a little". You can't see very well in the picture, but if you make it bigger I think you'll see the shimmer. Also in Soft Suede I stamped "Wonderful Mother" from the Well Scripted stamp set. I tore off the bottom corner then sponged all around the card using Soft Suede. Before I attached the top piece; I wiped the Soft Suede Ink Pad on the corner of the Bashful Blue giving it that "aged" look. After attaching the top piece; I cut the Butterfly from Vanilla Cardstock using my Big Shot and the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die. Using Black Staze-On, I stamped the flower and leaf images from the Embrace Life Stamp Set and colored in using Always Artichoke, Ruby Red and Bashful Blue. Then again, I sponged around the edge of the butterfly with Soft Suede classic ink and attached to the card using dimensionals.

A week ago we had to put our Sweet Annabelle to sleep..... You've been seeing her on my blog on the side. She would have been 13 in May, but she appeared to have a stoke, so we couldn't let her go on by not walking, sitting and falling over or not eating.... It was a really sad day. We took a couple of pictures of her alone and again with her sisters to remember her...

This weekend we got the most memorable special package I could ever imagine. the Vet we took her to sent us a package. It contained a plaster cast of Annie's paw with her name stamped on it, a book and a sympathy card. These people are so caring for their "patients".... Maybe some of our medical doctors ought to take a lesson from them. Check out our special package..... it's so heartwarmig and special to our hearts..

Stencils

I never realized how much I would love the stencils for making cards. The ornament stencils were wonderful for Christmas and have just learned how funthe Folk Flowers stencil set is. This is the same as the Razzle Dazzle Stamp Set.

I can't believe how close I have come to Kimberly VanDiepen's type of card, but I stenciled the Folk Flower onto my Kraft cardstock using Close to Cocoa Ink. The using the En Francais background stamp set, I stamped that over the stenciled image. I tore the open edge of my card and the sponged around all edges, using the Cose fo Cocoa ink again. Then I cut a piece of Close to Cocoa cardstock, again I tore the edge and fitted it up agains the edge of my craft cardstock, leaving an open space to the card base.

I placed a piece of Stick Strip about 3/4" down the fold side of the card front, tore the red backing off, then using my Chocolate Chip taffeta ribbon, I placed the edge on top of the edge and folded and smashed the ribbon onto the sticky strip all the way to the bottom. Then I tied a bow with the same ribbon and attached it towards the top using a mini glue dot. I sponged around the backside of the cardstock with the Close to Cocoa ink blending it in with the front piece. Then the last was stamping the Thank You stamp from page 144 onto the front of the card, again using the Close to Cocoa ink.

I love how the MonoChrome look appeals to me..... loving the antiquey look.

Special Auction for a Friend in Need

One of our friends is having a Special Night and Auction for a relative that has cancer. They asked for people to donate things for an auction to help earn money to help this person out. I've made several boxes with cards for a number of auctions, mostly for grandkids sports like football or baseball. They have all raised a lot of money for the group, so I'm hoping the box I did with cards helps out as well.

This is the box I came up with. I just learned how to make the cute tissue paper flowers and thought with the Sweet Pea DSP I used, the paper flowers would really accent the design on the paper. I absolutely love this paper package.... I ordered several more packages for my own personal use after April because it's so beautiful for any occasion and don't want to see it go :( The Stitched Sweet Pea Felt that is designed to accent these papers are so gorgeous and fun to use... I also have several more packets of these for myself, of course LOL.

REALLY Cute Key Rings

I saw this really cute Key Ring on one of the websites I visited and thought I would try it. i used the same punch that was used in what I saw and made two of them. I only have a picture of one of them, but the second one I did; I used less papers because I thought the first one I'm showing you was a little too big. Now that I've done a couple I'm going to (first purchase more chrystal effects), then use some different punches.... I thought the Butterfly Punch, the Scallop Square Punch, the Big Heart Punch (maybe even the new Bird Punch) would also make really cute key rings. Next time, I'm going to try some DSP and maybe even some images, stamps or die cuts to make them more interesting. What fun gifts for hostesses or quick gifts to a friend. This would be fun with a friends name or initial on it or a special occasion photo... I'll show you some new ones soon.

Awash with Flowers

I made a quick card using this set ( it was really quick and shows it) but there are so many really fun images and cards out there using this set, I'm so excited to actually spend some quality time with it to show you what's possible. On my quick card, I used several items from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit..... Can you see the rhinestones on two of the flowers? I also used one of the strips designed for an egg stand... I used it for the grass. Also, on the grass I used one of the rub-ons from "Chit Chat". If you don't own very many word greeting stamp sets, this is a good way to get your greeting for many occasions, and still don't have to purchase the greeting sets. Each one of the rub-on packages contain many sayings/greetings for lots of different occasions.
